Room Light Controller
After moving into my new house in Kingston, ON for school, I noticed that the light switch for my room was located outside of the room. Given my background in engineering and electronics, I decided to add my own lights to the inside of the room and develop a computer program using a Raspberry Pi with a 7" touchscreen to run the software. Since the lights all run on A/C current supplied by a standard wall outlet, a relay board was used to ensure a safe connection between the micro controller and the lights. Finally, an Arduino UNO was used to provide the input/output pins and used serial ports to communicate with the Raspberry Pi.
